I wonder what it does to frogs, salamanders, butterflies and bats.

“Frogs have been found to be very sensitive to some herbicide products and in particular to the surfactants, or wetting agents used to improve the effectiveness of the chemicals (Bidwell & Gorrie 1995).”

We wonder what it is that is reducing our songbird numbers so rapidly; perhaps this is much like the canary and the miners…and a good solid indicator that we use to much poison!!!

And what about erosion control? Or mosquitoes having easier access to still water and fewer birds eating them? Will we then have to spray insecticide? When will we stop the madness?

I am no real fan of blackbirds, but I am just so over this kind of ridiculous thinking.

Beverly

http://www.setacjournals.org/perlserv/?request=get-abstract&issn=0730-7268&volume=020&issue=02&page=0273&ct=1

http://www.ew.govt.nz/enviroinfo/water/wetlands/restoringwetlands/pestcontrol.htm

http://www.sciencedirect.com/science?_ob=ArticleURL&_udi=B6V78-3WY41DC-8&_user=10&_rdoc=1&_fmt=&_orig=search&_sort=d&view=c&_acct=C000050221&_version=1&_urlVersion=0&_userid=10&md5=80ca17a1b630df98fe6542f0577656c3

http://www.glo.state.tx.us/coastal/ct2020/2005report/RegionIIDocuments/CT2020RegionII_Public_Responses.pdf

http://www.state.vt.us/psb/orders/2007/files/6860orderreherbicideissue.pdf

http://www.amlrnrm.sa.gov.au/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=GWUWvYj1hS4%3D&tabid=548

http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1526-4629.2005.tb00187.x?cookieSet=1&journalCode=cbp.1Beverlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09334121900896195207noreply@blogger.com
